Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has been a controversial public figure since his elevation to the post in June 2020. His operational changes slowed mail delivery in conjunction with staff time lost during the pandemic, coinciding with a historic increase in voting by mail during a controversial election involving Donald Trump, a close ally of Dejoy.
